Seeking Beyond....... de Beyond

YoZ! I'm finally back from "Seeking Beyond"... for those of u who doesnt know wad that is, "Seeking Beyond" is a camp organised by my church (AGPC)....

Day 1 (Fri 29th of Dec):
Met up in the afternoon, at 12:30pm at church, then went to "sign-up"... zzzzzz dam lame... hahahaz, but it got us all high.... then we proceeded to the first game... hahaz, which was jus to split us up into our own grps and to come up with our grp name and cheer, which turned out to be Sunkiss (Sunkist) Orange... i'm in orange... weird colour though, at first, but i learned to love wad i have and not complain... Those in my group included (in no particular order =P) Jaime, XueWei, DiWei, Kay, HuiWen, Winnie, WeiShan. After that came a series of games that was really ice-breaking.... eh actually it was literally, cos they made us break up 4 blocks of ice and try to fill up a bottle as much as we can... lolx... at least my team got 3rd, hahaz... next er, came a water bomb catching contest... where on one side a few of the team members tie water bombs and 2 members are on the other side catching the water bombs with jus a towel and nothin else... for this one my grp managed to get first, heex... hahaz, me and Di Wei got mo qi sia.... next up, the traditional water bomb games... hahaz.... where members of a team must run thru a passageway formed by another team's members and to avoid getting bombed as much as possible... Each bomb hit minuses points from the grp's total. hmm, enough for games, we went for a shower and its DINNER TIME! so ate dinner, had a sermon before going to slp... the male dorm was freezing thru-out the nite... but its a simple fulfilling day...

Day 2 (Sat 30th of Dec):
Early in the morn, i woke up for a bath... and its freezing cold... lolx, then we had morning devotion time and then breakfast, then followed by an outing to a park... lolx... a relatively short walk though... after reaching there, we had a mini sermon in this big open area... the sermon was on how everyone is special cos its the creator that made u special, not how other ppl sees u... we then had snacks and thought abt wat we wanna do abt our Final Showdown item, in which included 2 songs and a comedy skit, or rather, dam lame skit... IMPORTANT MOMENT: I was jus strumming a few chords ard and happen to come up with a tune, then i jus said to Di Wei: hey buddy, lets jus fit in lyrics and form and song to use for our Final Showdown, thus born a song titled Always Here, only completed after Kay added the lyrics. This is one of the few songs that i'm really really satisfied with, after which i realise its not becoz the song sounds nice or stuffs like that, but becos i wrote it with frens. After that we had the next activity which is to cook for our own dinner, which is also competitive... so our grp headed over to hougang mall to get our ingredients, passing thru winne's house along the way too, cos we decided that she shld be the main chef for our grp. We had a restriction of $33 and a requirement of having smth related to our colour presented in the food. so we bought our food, which is as follows: carrot, pork, orange juice, peach slices, speghetti, tomatos. All these totalled a really low $21.95, oh did i mention that we get extra points for saving money? Here's where certain things got wrong; Winnie had a upset stomach, and we were really handicapped in the cooking process, but hey! we ended as 3rd for our speghetti... hahaz... And that was dinner... then came bathing time, sermon and packing up for the next day aka sunday, where we have service... oh ya, the worship team was practising the previous night at 11pm, hahaz, like for 30mins only... break record sia, but also cos we have no other time to prac... yup, the sermon was really good, esp the songs chosen by the ling chang cos i had certain issues that i couldnt come to terms with myself. To think that Di Wei had the same issues, but only to a different person, and maybe in a stronger degree too.... haix.... we both talked out our issues during the grp sharing session which i'm really grateful for, cos this is one of the few times i'm unable to bring myself to apologise without the strength of the Lord... so yeah slp followed soon after... and this time, the temperature was jus right... hahaz

Day 3 (Sun 31st of Dec) :
In the morn till noon, service was as normal, except that the worhip team and everyone in the camp wore the camp t-shirt... hahaz, i forgot to bring white shirt though i brought the pants, hence the decision... =P
In the afternoon, most of the grps rehearsed wad they had to do for the Final Showdown. At this point, Xue Wei was feelin unwell and went home, yet another blow to our team. This is then when Wei Jie, Di jie and me wrote another song... which was really unexpected, cos i dun usually come up with songs so easily and that quickly.. i guess the inspiration is jus there, really gotta thank God. This second song is yet another song that i truly like, but the title isnt out yet cos Wei Jie havent decide on the title. I then practised with the yellow grp in this song to be performed by tonight. The committee then led us in a few more games, followed by BBQ preperations... and also camp fire preperation. Then in the evening, the Final Showdown begun, starting with the blue grp.

They came up with a skit of two mice going ard eating and they landed up in a church called AGPC, where they see the transformation of three ppl from their old ways into a better person... It was really funny the way they conveyed the story... esp Di Song and Wei Ren acting as the two mice... hahaz.

The orange grp came up next; we did our first song, chosen from the Stream Of Praise book and ended halfway thru the song suddenly, fitting nicely into our skit. Luckily Xue Wei felt better and is back into the grp, thk God. After the skit we continued with the song. Then Di Wei had a confession to make, which is the issue he had the day before, and for this i respect his courage to stand up and admitting his sins to the rest. our performance ended with Always Here... and i guess we enjoyed ourselves for the performances.

Next came the yellow grp, cos they wanna share the song Wei Jie, Di Jie and me wrote, in a response to Di Wei's confession. sad thing was that we forgot the tune and so we were tryin to smoke thru the song... hahaz... didnt turn out that bad though...

Next was the red grp, they had a skit on how choosing Love over Peace, Wealth and Success is the best option cos it brings with it the rest of them. I thought they did a pretty good show... really funny...

last but definitely not the least is the green team. They came up with a skit of how this kid named "little red shorts" (direct chinese translation) was on his way to visit his grandma, similar to the story of red riding hood... hahaz, Esmond aka the little red shorts was hilarious...

We all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly thru the Final Showdown, after which the BBQ continued... I ate with Isabella, Johnathan and Di Jie in a interesting way. We collected food while helping cook the BBQ for others before we actually sat down with our pile of collected food and thruly enjoyed our dinner... Had a really good talk with these guys... also wanna add that i hope that the Lord will bring Isabella more into the church and to join us more often... So in this time, i got to know more abt Isabella and Johnathan, as well as Di Jie, thk God...

Soon after, the countdown begins... We were all really high, not on drugs though, hahaz... after this we had free time and we jus enojoyed ourselves with a game of captain's ball. Exciting match... though a little imba.... hahaz... then everyone jus either went to slp or sat down and talked... or do smth... lolx... i was having the time of my life talking with a few ppl and singing songs at our best... then we bathed and ate noodles, courtesy of Winchester... then sharing of jokes and chess games... slpt soon after that... then this morn very seh... cos only slp 2 hrs... heex... we then had our breakfast, which was the really good turkey porridge that aunty Katherine prepared for us... a morn devotion time came after breakfast... then we had this "25th hour" activity which is sharing of our views and thoughts thru-out this camp. there was even a really good slideshow prepared for all of us, thks to the committee for putting in the effort to do this. After that we all got ready to pack up and clean up the church and its goodbyes...

Thk you Lord, for letting me have this time with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. I've definitely learned a lot and i must say that this camp is really well done and fruitful. Lord i pray that u'll bless all of us in our relationships with each other and that we'll do more for ur glory. Lord, i thk u for each and every one of them that u've put into my life, and that u'll use my talents to the best for u. Lord i also pray that u'll bring FJFC up in healthy growth and to use us, Lord, in spreading the gospel. In Jesus's name i pray, amen...
